Drive Safer for Pregnant Women
May 28, 2008
Becoming a first time mother with everyday activities such as driving can become worrisome, especially when you find that everything from your favorite jeans to your seatbelt no longer fit the way they used to!
An Australian company offers a special contraption to make car seat belts safer for pregnant women. The TummyShield is a seat belt designed to remove the lap belt that could potentially hurt an unborn child during a collision — even a minor one, and keeps the waist belt away from the tummy area.
Apparently this system is tested. I would still first check with your car insurance provider to see if this product is allowed.
Rather than having a lap belt, the TummyShield has two straps that buckle across the thighs, securing the passenger in the same way but without the risk of putting dangerous pressure across a woman’s abdomen. With a combination as simple as a cushion and safety strap, expectant moms are able to guard their most precious cargo without a lot of hassle.
To use, simply place the Tummy Shield cushion and fasten with buckle. You may need to use an extension piece if you are bigger or further along in your pregnancy. Put on your seat belt as you normally would, and then pull it away so you can fasten it securely to the provided hook.
The device is available from the manufacturer for $188.

It is hard to define and compare the outlook and condition of a used car to define its price. However, there are several simple steps for consumer to do in making a pre-owned purchase simple and know they are obtaining the vehicle for a reasonable price.
The first step understands the seller mindset. We have to define the reason why the car is about to be sold. We have to be able in defining this reason. If the seller sells the car because they dislike the vehicle, we have to know what kind of vehicle they use now. Do they upgrade the vehicle? Until what parts?
The next question is what the appearance of the vehicle is. Judging the appearance of a vehicle is the best way. Check Your Car Air Filter
May 16, 2008
Air filter in a car is very important to maintain. Once the air filter does not work properly, your car might goes to different problems. Therefore, having checking and maintaining the air filter is very important, and if it is necessary, you can change it. Although you can do it by yourself, but you can let your mechanic do it for you.
The recommendation for changing your air filter is at least once a year or every 15,000 miles if you are live in an averagely dusty area. But if it is necessary, you can check it regularly and having replaced. There is two ways in knowing whether your air filter is still in good condition or not. If you see the light clearly, it means that your air filter is still in good condition. In contrary, if you see much of the light, it indicates that the filter is needed to be changed.
If your car is older, then the air filter will probably be of a big round shape and located near the engine area. It might probably be screwed, and all you might need to do is to unscrew the cover, let the air filter come out, and place the new one instead of it. You must pay attention in case it has any other attachment mechanisms such as clips which you would need to take off as well.
