Norwegian Electric Cars, TH!NK Ox!
June 24, 2008
TH!NK Ox electric cars, is another latest concept development and the first designated 5-seater fully electric vehicle with 100% emission free, includes a unique EV platform suitable for a variety of different body styles. This kind of electric car produced by Norwegian car company THINK! with their vision to provide carefree, carbon-free mobility for a better way of moving.
The first prototype predecessor to today’s modern TH!NK city was developed in 1991. Drawing on 17 years of experience in electric vehicle development and production, Think is not a typical car industry start-up. TH!NK city was put in serial production in 1999, supported by American car giant Ford.
Th!nk Ox could be about the most attractive and functional electric car ever designed. Before the debate starts over that claim, note the all-important “and” between the words attractive and functional. With five seats and an emphasis on interior space and comfort, this vehicle is setting the standard for future EVs. TH!NK Ox combines Scandinavian design and functionality with TH!NK’s unique lines. It is both spacious and sophisticated. The space frame cant rail is a visible styling part, running from the front to the rear wheel arch. An upright tailgate emphasises the distinct TH!NK outline and creates valuable luggage space.
The Ox is fully connected: GPS, mobile internet, a customizable digital dashboard, as well as a whole host of other modern features, all link the driver to his or her surroundings. The combination of GPS and constant Internet connection provides an incredible platform for location-based search, and location-based services adapted to the vehicle.
TH!NK connectivity may also give drivers feedback on their driving behaviour and guidance on optimizing energy usage by providing real time energy consumption information while driving. In real time, the navigation system will graphically display how far the car can go one-way, given the current battery charge level, how far the car can go round trip, and how much battery charging time is required to reach a specific destination.

The production facilities, Think Technologies, are located at Aurskog, some 50km east of Oslo. The first electric vehicle production line was installed here in 1998.
Think is on track to sell about 10,000 of them there this year. With the establishment of Think North America, the City will be available to US customers by early 2009.
