Purchasing a Pre-owned Automobile
May 18, 2008
Having purchase a pre-owned automobile can be nerve racking for buyers or consumers. There are some considerations regarding to the integrity of the Automobile. It is hard to define and compare the outlook and condition of a used car to define its price. However, there are several simple steps for consumer to do in making a pre-owned purchase simple and know they are obtaining the vehicle for a reasonable price.
The first step understands the seller mindset. We have to define the reason why the car is about to be sold. We have to be able in defining this reason. If the seller sells the car because they dislike the vehicle, we have to know what kind of vehicle they use now. Do they upgrade the vehicle? Until what parts?
The next question is what the appearance of the vehicle is. Judging the appearance of a vehicle is the best way. A clean and neat interior is a good sign that the person who sold the vehicle is take good care of the vehicle. If its poor and in bad condition, you should consider it harder, unless you want to get a broken down vehicle.
Check Your Car Air Filter
May 16, 2008
Air filter in a car is very important to maintain. Once the air filter does not work properly, your car might goes to different problems. Therefore, having checking and maintaining the air filter is very important, and if it is necessary, you can change it. Although you can do it by yourself, but you can let your mechanic do it for you.
The recommendation for changing your air filter is at least once a year or every 15,000 miles if you are live in an averagely dusty area. But if it is necessary, you can check it regularly and having replaced. There is two ways in knowing whether your air filter is still in good condition or not. If you see the light clearly, it means that your air filter is still in good condition. In contrary, if you see much of the light, it indicates that the filter is needed to be changed.
If your car is older, then the air filter will probably be of a big round shape and located near the engine area. It might probably be screwed, and all you might need to do is to unscrew the cover, let the air filter come out, and place the new one instead of it. You must pay attention in case it has any other attachment mechanisms such as clips which you would need to take off as well.
Fuel Price Set to Rise Again
May 15, 2008
Based on the factor below:
• Refineries struggle to meet demand
• Prices have risen by 2.3% in a month
• Experts warn of a possible 60% rise
Local residents aren’t the only ones feeling the financial pinch of rising fuel prices. As gas continues to climb toward $4 a gallon, local governments are scrambling to find ways to keep their vehicles running.
Drivers are being warned that fuel prices will rise steeply in the next six weeks, as refineries struggle to provide enough oil to meet demand.
A Europe-wide shortage of capacity at refineries was further exacerbated by the recent strike at the Grangemouth refinery in Scotland and a fire at a Finnish plant. The warning came after The Office for National Statistics reported that the price of petrol products leaving refineries had risen by 2.3% in a month.
Boone County Commissioner Huck Lewis said the Highway Department has eaten up a large chunk of their fuel budget for the year and may be out of gas money by June or July. If that happens, the department would have to use other funds in the county budget.
Lewis said the county isn’t putting any restrictions on employee drivers, just asking them to rely on their common sense.
Last week, Goldman Sachs, a US investment bank, said that oil prices threaten to hit $200 a barrel over coming months as producers struggled to keep pace with demand from China and the Middle East.
That would represent a rise of more than 60% from the current level of $125 a barrel.
